Introduction:

QLC, a dynamic and growing R&D tax consultancy, is seeking a skilled and motivated Tax Accountant to join our team. This role consists of specialised tax accounting, catering to our diverse client base and informing the development of our proprietary tax software. We are looking for someone who is quick to learn, highly self-motivated, and ready to take ownership of their work. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong background in corporation tax, we want to hear from you.

If you are recently qualified but have an interest in technology and entrepreneurship, we would invest in you despite a lack of experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Accounting for Clients:
  • Provide expert tax advice and services, with a focus on R&D tax credits.
  • Prepare and file corporation tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct tax planning and optimization strategies for clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation and HMRC guidelines.
• Software development
  • Help guide the development of unique financial tools
  • Work with software team to ensure accuracy of tax processing software
• Internal finance
  • From time to time, you may be asked to consult on company tax and finance matters.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Essential:
  • ATT, or CTA qualification (multiple qualifications are advantageous).
  • Strong experience in both management accounting and tax accounting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Preferred:
  • Previous experience in R&D tax credits.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to non-financial stakeholders.
